All Roads Lead to Bute
Childhood Memories & Later
The new anthology from Bute Writers

Childhood Memories conjures up images of the past in different decades. All human life is here: wash day (all day), sledges, evacuees, first love, and tuberculosis. We pass the 'Tail o' the Bank' to Carrick Castle, and take piano lessons. Humour and pathos; happy playtimes, punitive discipline not allowed today. Family life, motherly love, tenement and 'two up and two down' living.

The roads that led to Bute were many and varied. The reasons for coming are diverse. But all who have written their stories - having visited many places in their past - reveal, between the lines, why they remain on this 'Magical island'.
